Katie and Vik's wedding was an incredible celebration of love and the blending of two cultures. The day was filled with joy, laughter, and so much love. As trusted wedding photographers and videographers at Southern Palms Studio, we were honored to capture the beautiful moments of their special day. From the stunning venue to the gorgeous outfits, the day was truly unforgettable!
Katie and Vik's love story began while they were working at a hospital together during medical school for their residency. The couple decided to tie the knot on October 7th, 2023, at Ponte Vedra’s The Lodge & Club in Florida. The venue was ideal for the couple as it is located right off a beach, which is one of their favorite places to frequent as a couple (hence then honeymooning in Antigua).
The story of Vik's proposal to Katie is as enchanting as their courtship. Vik chose the very lifeguard chair on a Jacksonville beach where they shared their first kiss, catching her completely off guard. This surprise was further sweetened by the involvement of their family and friends, making the occasion truly memorable.
Katie & Vik are both board-certified podiatrist surgeons, so naturally, they had to switch over to sensible sneakers during their reception!
The couple first hosted a Christian wedding ceremony, followed by a Hindu wedding ceremony. The vibrant colors of the traditional Hindu outfits made for stunning photos, and each wedding ceremony was filled with love and culture. Katie and Vik opted out of having a traditional wedding cake and instead chose to have assorted cannoli adorn their dessert table.
Katie and Vik chose Southern Palms Studios as their wedding photographers and videographers due to a personal connection they have to the brother of our owner, Zack Glenn. Since we had recently captured his wedding, the couple knew that we would be the perfect choice for theirs. We were absolutely thrilled to be chosen to capture their beautiful moments.
